Your watch should always be serviced by an authorized watchmaker, but you should do your part as well by following these maintenance suggestions.

You should not set the time or wind your watch while it is on your wrist. That exerts pressure on the crown and the stem which could cause them to bend, thus creating a space in the packing that allows humidity or dust to enter into the watch’s mechanism.
