Montblanc "Signature for Good"

Montblanc and UNICEF have shared an important common goal over the years: working for children’s right to literacy around the world by giving them access to quality education to enable them to learn to read and write. More than any other brand, Montblanc embodies “The Art of Writing”.

The culture of writing is its domain, its core competency. Founded on one of the oldest forms of human culture, writing, the company feels a moral and cultural duty to confront the global problem of illiteracy. They believe that education is a fundamental human right, and will work to try to extend that right to as many people as possible. Right now, 10 to 20 percent of primary aged children who should be in school are not. Including the number of children who are enrolled, but do not attend, there are 101 million children without education worldwide.

Montblanc has been a supporter of UNICEF since 2004 and has raised over $1 million towards UNICEF-supported education programs in the developing world through programs like the “School for Africa” initiative in Angola, “Basic Education for Hard to Reach Urban Working Children” in Bangladesh, “Education for Working Girls: Child-friendly schools in El Alto”, and Intercultural Bilingual Education in Panama.

This year, in 2009, Montblanc renews its support to UNICEF with a new goal of raising $1.5 million through the brand’s third UNICEF campaign: “Signature for Good”.
